Borderline Personality Disorder

Borderline Personality Disorder or simply BPD is a serious disorder. Very serious. Some of the main signs of this psychiatric condition are mood changes, unstable relationships, no formed sense of identity, feeling empty or bored, etc.

People with borderline personality disorder have a big fear of being abandoned by people they love and care about. Due to this fear, people with BPD have a destructive behavior, so big that they would even become suicidal.

Some of the biggest and the most important symptoms of this disorder are destructive behaviors, uncontrollable thoughts, uncontrollable emotions, relationship problems, loss of the sense of self, and so on.

People who have BPD also often have depression and disorders such as anxiety or eating disorder. Borderline personality disorder often develops during adolescence. The reason for this is often some forms of trauma or problematic behaviors from people close to them. But BPD can also be genetic.

BPD is actually very treatable, and that is good. Dialectical behavior therapy is the best therapy for BPD. Exercise or having enough sleep should also help.

The book that I would suggest to people with borderline personality disorder is called The Power of Now written by Eckhart Tolle. That book should also be read by any person with or without BPD in my honest opinion. It is one of the most helpful books of all time. This book will change your life for the better.

  1. Is there a cliff notes on The Power of Now? Where can I find it? Please post more suggestions on dealing with BPD. I am very saddened to realize that I have it. It effects my view of my relationships. Luckily for me, I had a friend for 6.5 years who was also a lover and he stood by me but he can’t always handle my panic attacks, in fact mostly he doesn’t deal with me when I am having one. I feel isolated often and I worry constantly. I am always worried about being abandoned. Can you suggest something for this? I want to stop worrying. It makes no sense. Totally illogical. And most of the people in my life, which are few, don’t get me at all.
